Saturday, May 11, 2019   Hutto Spring-A-Palooza. 110 East Street, Hutto, TX (downtown). This was the second annual event featuring live music, demonstrations, a kids play area, food trucks, and craft vendors. The event ran from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tomzap played 11:00 am - 12:15 pm and 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm. Morgan Nicole played 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Micah Marcos played from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm. The weather was overcast with light rain most of the time up until about 2:30 pm. Temperature was in the low 60s that it had been forecast to reach 77°. The stage was set up in a different area from last time, on the SE corner of Farley and Main. A cold front blew in just before we started and there was a brief rain shower. After that it was just windy and a little cold. The turnout was low because of the weather. This was the first time that our new drummer, Mathew, performed with us.

Saturday, November 10, 2018   Leander Veterans Festival at Veterans Park, 1011 S. Bagdad Rd., Leander, TX. The event featured Live Entertainment, Veteran's Tribute Ceremony, Car Show, Military Static Display, Vendors, Food Trucks, Children's activities, and much more. Started with a ceremony at 2:00 pm and Tomzap played from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm followed by Departure ATX from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. When we got there at 1:00 pm, Departure ATX was already set up on the stage. They moved back to give us room to set up in front. It was overcast and cold all day with a high temperature of 48°. At least it didn't rain and the wind was light but the turnout was low. We tried to play our two-hour show straight through but Mario and Shane couldn't make it without a bathroom break. After our show we cleared the stage for Departure ATX which is a Journey tribute band that also plays other 80's music. Saturday, October 20, 2018   Bill's Burgers, Marble Falls location. 307 Main St., Marble Falls, TX. 6:30pm to 8:45pm. This was our second time to play at this location and we were again a 3-piece band tonight. The weather has been rainy for the last week or so with much local flooding requiring all 10 floodgates to be open on Lake Marble Falls. Bill's Burgers was only able to reopen the day before since the boil water restriction had been lifted. We were worried that it might rain again this evening but it did not rain and the cloud cover held the temperature to a reasonable 65°. We had a good crowd response and Klaus and Hanne attended. We used a special set list for this event, playing some of the songs we did not play when we were here in May and playing all three of the Soda Stereo songs and omitting the slow songs. The weather was sunny and hot but a steady breeze made it bearable. The little boy from across the street plays his toy guitar with us.

The weather was hot and sunny but with a nice breeze. We were initially planning to play under a grove of trees behind the Amenity Center swimming pool but they had planted grass and the ground was too wet. So the event was moved to the pavillion on the other side of the pool. This turned out to be a very good location with relief from the heat since the pavillion was open air with a roof and high ceiling. We had Brian with us. Saturday, June 9, 2018   Private party for the residents of Orchard Ridge. Orchard Ridge Amenity Center, 100 Orchard Park Drive, Liberty Hill, TX. We played from 1:00 to 4:20pm. This was our first time to play at Orchard Ridge. The weather was sunny with temperatures in the lower 90s with a light breeze. The homeowners association provided fajitas and a margarita machine from La Margarita Restaurant. We set up our canopy and played by the pool. The weather was hot and sunny. The Memorial Day weekend event was well attended and there was also a party going on in the pavillion. I met people who were familiar with us from previous events. The crowd reaction was better and we got a lot of compliments. Food service was very slow due to the number of people being served. Rena was not here today but Karen was. I met server, Zachary, a musician who plays with Vox Vocis. Mario and Tom began playing at 6:00 pm using drum tracks until Shane could arrive from work. We played the two new 13th Floor Elevator songs. We played until about 8:20 pm and there was still a good crowd at that time. Saturday, April 28, 2018   Georgetown Red Poppy Festival. Mayfair Stage in the food court near 7th & Church St., Downtown Georgetown, TX. 1:00pm to 1:45pm. This was our first time to play at the Red Poppy Festival in Georgetown and we played as a three-piece band. It was a beautiful sunny day and we were grateful to to have friends Ramon, Brenda, and Sharon there. There were 7 bands playing that day on the Mayfair Stage: 11:00 am - Avery Logan 12:00 pm - Bethany Becker 1:00 pm - Tomzap 2:00 pm - Porch Turtles 3:00 pm - Jo Ellen and the Box of Chocolates 4:00 pm - Cam Dozier 5:00 pm - Alex Winters We had only 15 minutes between bands to tear down and set up the next band. This was a first for us. We have never had to do that so quickly but we made it. Having the PA set up and soundman, Ron, helped. There was a stage manager, Madison, but we never saw her. We dropped off the gear at 7th and Church, having to move barricades to get in and out. There was no parking for band members and I parked the trailer 10 blocks away and walked back, a lot of work for no pay. The sound was a bit loud and heavy on the bass although the guitar seemed shrill. Overall it was not as clean as we were used to and I missed the drum cue on our walkaround on Innerphase/On My Island. Saturday, April 21, 2018   Tom and Shane played with the Common Thread band for the Pleasant Hill Elementary Carnival at 1800 Horizon Park Blvd., Leander, TX from 11:00am to 3:00pm. The weather was cool and drizzly and there was a strong possibility of rain so the carnival was moved indoors. Brian was not able to be with us so it was John, Justin, Shane, and Tom. We set up at the end of a long hallway where there were vendors set up. So we had to play a reduced volume and probably didn't reach the end of the hallway. We got some positive feedback and had a good time. Friday, April 20, 2018   Private party for the residents of Riata Apartments. 5:30pm to 8:30pm. This is our first time to play at the Riata and we performed as a 3-piece band with Shane, Mario, and Tom. This was their Spring Fling event with about 420 people attending, residents of the apartments. Pizza and keg beer were served. The weather was perfect, cool with a light breeze. We set up near the swimming pool and hot tub just outside of the Athletic Center. The audience was responsive and liked our music. We had one Soda Stereo fan there. A lot of people were taking videos of us. Sunday, April 15, 2018   Round Rock Car Show, held in conjunction with a barbeque benefit for the family of Round Rock Police officer, Charles Whites. Hosted by the Round Rock Police Officers Association and the City of Round Rock, at Centennial Plaza, 301 W Bagdad, Round Rock. Tomzap played 10am to 1pm. Today was a beautiful, sunny day following a cold front that blew through the day before. There was still a breeze and it was chilly enough for participants to be wearing jackets in the morning but just right for rock and roll players. It was a large event and in addition to the car show there were vendors and a barbeque benefit with a large tent in front of the stage where folks could sit down to eat. We set up with our canopy on the edge of the plaza facing the parking area where the car show was taking place. We coordinated out location with the vendor group and set up rear-facing speakers at reduced volume to serve the vendor area. We had Brian with. Relatives Wendy, Rick and Christian were there as well as friends Ron and Martha. Saturday, April 14, 2018   Private party for residents of The Hollows Hilltop Condos at The Hilltop Smokehouse. 12 noon to 3pm. The Hilltop Smokehouse is a neighborhood park on the peak of a hill amoung The Hollows condos. There is a covered pavillion with rest rooms, a fireplace, picnic tables, and a barbeque area. Today a cold front blew in and it was extremely windy and fairly cool. The Hollows put up a canopy for us and we reinforced it with some extra weights to keep it in place. We played at a very low volume since we were very close to the audience. The tables were in a shaded area which was not nearly as comfortable as the sunny barbeque area. So most people went to the barbeque area as soon as they were finished eating. The Hollows gave away prizes to attendees in a raffle drawing. Few people had arrived when it was time for us to start so we adjusted the song order. We had Brian with us.
